The Most Beautiful Campsite in Twin Lakes, CO

🏕Where to find this spot:

We found this campsite on the Compendium app. It’s called Twin Lakes View Dispersed Camping. While you aren’t camping by the water of Twin Lakes, you will be directly in front of Mt Elbert Forebay. This lake proved to be a wonderful trout fishing spot. This campsite has incredible views in all directions.

💧Where to fill up water & dump tanks:

Leadville has a $5 dump and fill as you drive into town on the right. It is at the water santitation district. Bring cash to pay in a drop box.

🚙Where to explore:

Climb the tallest mountain in Colorado, called Mt. Elbert. This campsite sits at the entrance to the beautiful Independence Pass. You cannot drive vehicles over 35 ft in the pass, so leave your rv at camp. Check out my recent reel about everything to do on the pass. Be sure to visit Turquoise Lake and drive or bike around it.

🛒Where to shop:

You can get a few small snacks and drinks in Twin Lakes at the General Store, but for your grocery trips you will want to head into Leadville.

🍕Dining out:

You MUST get pizza and fresh Chocolate chip cookies from High Mountain Pies in Leadville.
